I am your Shepherd

Be not afraid
I go before you, always
Come follow me, and I will give you rest
Once you were lost, but now you’re found
Free from constraints and no longer bound
Oh baby, do not weep
Your soul is pure and sweet
That child was given tainted love
It stops with you, as you will rise above
The past isn’t something to fear
Hush inner child, I am here
Be not afraid
I go before you, always
Come follow me, and I will give you rest
There is no reason for shame
As you are not the one to blame
Allow yourself to grieve
Accept rather than suppress and disbelieve
Unlock that cage that you put yourself in
Protection isn’t steel bars and holding within
That weight and burden keeps you down
Plastering a face of a permanent frown
Be not afraid
I go before you, always
Come follow me, and I will give you rest
Learn to open your heart and forgive
What that broken child did
Holding on to anger will deteriorate your health
They are just a broken child themselves
Strive to become what your inner child needed
Being the one that succeeded
Breaking the generational trauma tradition
Lifting that weight by admission
Be not afraid
I go before you, always
Come follow me, and I will give you rest
Family secrets, are a wooden cross
A weight that is dragged across
Generations
Without discrimination
Forming separation
And alienation
Carrying your cross to your crucifixion
By the means of addiction
Be not afraid
I go before you, always
Come follow me, and I will give you rest
I will raise you up, On eagles wings
Bear you are, The breath of dawn
Make you shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm, of my hands.
